French Fare at our Capitol Hill Restaurant

At Bistro Bis, politicos and powerbrokers schmooze alongside first-time visitors and longtime Capitol Hill residents. We like to think this is the kind of establishment where “everybody knows your name” (and if they don’t already, they soon will). Run by James Beard Award-winning Chef Jeffrey Buben, the owner of three popular Capitol Hill restaurants, Bistro Bis brings innovative interpretations of classic French bistro fare to a DC power zone. Diners return time and again to savor and be seen, and engaging staff members make the experience top-notch in an unpretentious way.

Guests enjoy house made saucisson on the outdoor terrace in warmer months, and rich Beef Bourguignon by the fireplace in the wintertime. Favorites include appetizers such as Endive Salade, Steak Tartare, and Salade Frisee, followed by Steak Frites, Boullibaisse, or Confit de Canard. The décor features a zinc bar and a tiered dining area, while classic French cocktails and a thoughtful wine list jazz up the experience, too.
